What does it mean to be a friend?

What does it truly mean to be a friend? For starters, think about what kind of a friend you would want. Would you rather have an honest friend or an untrustworthy one? Wouldn't you want someone who was loyal and respectful? This is what you need to strive to be. Become the friend you have or wish you had. Set a good example. You might be the only hope that this friend has in their life. Truly care about the person. Don't do things only to benefit you. Treat them how you want them to treat you. Bear their burdens. Feel their pain and let them know you care about them. Be sure to listen because sometimes all someone needs is to be heard. They don't need your solution to their problems. That's God's job. Most importantly, be the light to them. You might be the only thing that points them to Christ.
